Macoun Apples are a medium size variety. When ripe, they are deep, dark purply red and often irregular in shape. It’s contrasting bright green skin is sometimes visible at the stem or present beneath the deeply colored marks, giving these apples a beautiful pattern. Macoun Apples have a creamy white, tender-crisp flesh. The New York apples are extra sweet and sometimes tart with a rich, mild taste.

These apples are best suited for fresh eating and and good for cooking into pies or sauces.

Our apples are from either Briermere Farms in Riverhead or the Milk Pail in Water Mill.
